With all due respect and concern for anyone trying to improve their life when leaving prison, the issues and risks of the car being involved in an accident and/or misused seems high. I am wondering how one can ensure any and all liabilities are removed.

By making absolutely sure the vehicle is taken out of your name. Most states have a form you can fill out and send in (some states charge of course, but it’s only in the $10 range) to get your name off the vehicle. Also cancel the insurance.
