While working with the victims of Haiti’s earthquake taken to the Dominican Republic, I found many individuals from different non-profits enjoying stays at luxury hotels and renting expensive cars with donation funds, as if they were vacationing (doing nothing at all for the victims). Mean while, my FL non-profit only received twenty bucks donation, and we had 92 earthquake victims to help and we used our personal savings to help them while funds lasted. The campaign on the media telling the people to donate only to “reputable” (should I say, “wasteful”?) non profits, seems to have convinced the people to donate only to those entities, instead to other smaller non-profits that really help people without wasting money.
