I live in OHIO and in July 2007 I purchased an airline ticket, hotel, and rental car for the sole purpose of volunteering in New Orleans with a Non-profit organization there. I had no other purpose there other than to donate my time and talents to help rebuild. I purchased all my own food and I was not reimbursed for any expenses.
What expenses can I deduct on my taxes? And what tax forms do I use?

I donated my car 3 months ago and the ppl who took it i knew them by searching online ,,,donate4kids after calling them many many time to get a receipt they sent me a crappy paper ….doesnt look like an official form ,,
I don’t know if i should go and suw them for this?
Or is this is normal to just get a peice of paper and not f1098 form?

If an organization filed to become a non profit corporation in 2010, would a donor be eligible for a deduction for a car donation in 2009? Our ministry received a car donation in Dec 2009. We didn’t file to be recognized as a non-profit organization until January 2010. Would the donor of the car be able to still receive a deduction?

My state and federal taxes come out to just over 4400.00. I was in school all year and am eligable for full tax back. But i donated my car back and got a slip saying it was sold for 2000 dollars. My question is can i recieve over 4400.00dollars because i donated the car or will i just get the 4400.00 and the car was free?

So i donated my car last year when the transmission blew. my total tax money from federal and state was about 4400 dollars and i was in school and have that slip that should give me full back. My question is the tax paper from the car donation came back and said it was sold for 2000 dollars. if i already was going to get full back will i get just 4400. or 6400 or somehere inbetween. Please let me know.

i donated my car in february of 2005 and i got back a document stating i can deduct 1300 bucks. my accountant is saying that since i dont have a home / mortgage i cant deduct it. he also says i dont meet the minimum 10 thousand dollar deduction. whatever that means. is this true?

I am a 21 yr old full time college student who is still a dependent on my mom’s tax return (she itemizes). I would like to donate my car which has a Fair Market Value of $5,000, to take advantage of the charitable deduction on my taxes. I currently have $300 in deductions without the charitable deduction.
What do you recommend I do to take advantage of the charitable deduction. Should I have my mom donate the car for me if I don’t itemize my deductions?

Some of my friends advice me not to move my car here as they have different emission rules requiring me to spend $$ in repairs.Do you think I could make those changes in my car in OH itself and take my car or should I just sell this and buy another one there.

i need some good opinions from all you 4runner owners out there. please if you dont know, do not post an answer. i am looking to trade my integra for a 93 4runner sr5 v6 4×4 auto clean title with 218,xxx miles on chassis and 17,xxx miles on new motor.. please read descriptions on both cars and lmk if its a good trade if i got to keep my alarm and pioneer stereo for the trade. here is a link to my integra. it is very clean and well kept

its really not $30,000. its just an ad that i made up so that you can have a better idea at what im looking at to trade it for. those are the actual pics of the car and info that he has sent me.
lmk if it sounds like a legitimate trade or a little bit more fishy. i have paper work to prove my side and he says that he has paper work too, but i dont know if he did the motor swap himself cause my repairs were done at a shop.

please, all 4runner owners out there, lmk if this is the year and model to buy as of the 4runners and what are the common problems that i should be looking at when visually inspecting this car. what should the motor be for this year? example: my integra has a b18a1 motor. and where in the engine bay will i find this info from the 4runner? how should it sound like and how should it run? is it pretty common for these to sag at the back? pretty much if you were to buy one of these what would you be looking at before actually signing the title over? thank you in advance!
