I don’t have a car to give or anything… I’m in need of a car. I have a 7 month old baby, I’m in college, and I work part time so I need something to move around in… friends and family can only go so far.

Go get another job and take public transportation until you can afford a car. No handouts for you.

Charities that receive cars as donations usually sell them, not pass them on. You can try Freecycle, but you have to offer something to others first before you can make a request. You might have better luck on Craigslist if you offer to pay a small amount.
However, before you take on a vehicle, consider whether or not you can really afford even a freebie. Remember registration, insurance, maintenance & repairs. If you are surviving without a car now you might actually be better off without one. It would be another big obligation, & it sounds like you have enough of them already. It wasn’t easy, but many years ago I was a mom of 2 in school & a bike was all I had, even for picking up a child from daycare. It wasn’t easy, but looking back now, long after retirement, I’m pleased I had the perseverance to make it work. I wish you the best in pursuing your goals–
